Packaging & Recycling
Packaging plays a crucial role in ensuring the best possible quality and freshness of our products. Therefore, in some cases it is necessary to resort to plastic packaging, especially when food safety is concerned. Nevertheless, we use renewable paper packaging whenever possible to minimize our environmental footprint.
We have introduced a recycling system for the part of the packaging where plastic is unavoidable. We collect washed plastic packaging from Schrankerl products and work closely with our partner Saubermacher to ensure that this plastic is carefully recycled or properly disposed of using their service. This ensures that we offer the highest product quality and also take our responsibility for the environment seriously.
In Austria, 157,647 tons of food are thrown away every year, which means around 18.9 kg of valuable food per person. We want to change that with Schrankerl. Unlike traditional canteens, we can ensure that our deliveries meet the exact individual needs of our customers through precise, data-based and demand-oriented planning.
If there is any food left over, our meals are donated to charitable organizations such as Caritas. Less food waste not only means more efficient use of resources, but also responsibility for social and ecological issues. Schrankerl is strongly committed to the sustainable and responsible use of food.

At Schrankerl we offer only high-quality food from first-class Austrian partners. We therefore maintain close cooperation with proven partners such as Rita Bringt's, DoN and Office Buddy. These partners are characterized by the use of high-quality or organic ingredients, rely on regional meat and do not use preservatives. Quality, regionality and high-quality service are our focus in order to offer our customers a first-class experience.
